An artist and craftsman creating a unique medium from a heritage
of fabric workers and extensive training in the fine arts, particularly
painting.
Incredibly intricate collages of leather and fabric create
images that startle the eye and intrigue the mind. Each piece the
result of over 200 hours of creativity and design, producing an original
that is always vibrant, fresh and exciting.

Education:
1970 – 1971: Indiana University, Bloomington
1971 – 1972: Purdue University, division
of general and technical studies. Studied furniture history (ancient
through modern), contract and residential interior design and
architectural design.
1972 – 1975: Fort
Wayne Art Institute. Studied art history, painting, design, metalsmithing.Work
Experience:
1974 – 1975: Apprenticed with Dale
Amburn, Architect and well known modernist.
1987 – Present: Established Old House Galleries,
merging antiques and fine art with my mother’s interior design studio.
Old House specializes in architectural antiques, fine art, and
mid-century modern furniture — particularly Dunbar furniture
from Berne, IN.
1988 – Present: Began advertising for
Dunbar furniture and archival material in the Berne Tri-weekly,
amassing a large Dunbar library and collection of Dunbar furniture,
while at the same time developing a national clientele, both
wholesale and retail, that continues today. My association with
the Berne community has yielded many insights regarding the history
of Dunbar, not to mention the many friendships I have also forged
there.
2000 – Present: Began discussing
with Dr. Andrew Hurwitz (Santa Monica, CA.) the concept of the
definitive book in Dunbar furniture, combining the artistic genius
of Edward Wormley and Roger Lee Sprunger with the superb craftsmanship
of the Swiss emigrants of Berne, Indiana. |
