Indiana For Modern: A Celebration of Indiana
Arts and Crafts
The Mid-20th Century or “50’s Modern” era
of collecting has been, over the last five years, one of if not
the strongest areas in the collectibles marketplace. In
spite of a sour economy, record prices continue to be set. This
area is of particular interest to today’s youth — tomorrow’s
consumer. Because Dunbar production was low and targeted to a niche
market, pieces are rare and very expensive when they come into
the marketplace. Small tables that sold for $100 to $200 in the
1950’s and 60’s are now selling for $2,000 to $5,000.
Our intention is to reinterpret and reproduce these
now classic designs. We believe we can better some of the designs
by the incorporation of exotic woods, ceramic and glass mosaic
tops, and technical advances not available 50 years ago. We feel,
because of the rarity of many of these designs, that we will be
able to market our designs to the vintage market, as well to the
fast developing retro market.
Jewelry For
The Home: Our Products
In keeping with our commitment to making small
quantities of superbly handcrafted furniture, we have at present
introduced two collections: side tables and screens/room dividers.
Small Table Collection
These side tables incorporate exotic woods and are topped with hand-blown and
molded art glass and pottery inserts. Brass, aluminum and stainless steel, as
with the original Dunbar, are used as accents.
Dividers & Screens
Our screens and room dividers are made of unusual woods
and inlaid with suede and fabric collage, mosaic of glass or stone, hand-painted
French silk, leaded glass, laminated and woven woods, and three dimensional fabrications.
Custom commissions are invited.
